We report three patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease,whose first symptom was severe pruritis,similar to that observed in scrapie.The pruritis was resistant to therapy.The underlying mechanisms are unclear, but we speculate that the pruritis may result from brainstem involvement. |
